Anime Expeditions Equipment Reroll Guide (July 2026)

Equipment rerolling is the single biggest power spike available to a mid-game account — and the easiest system to waste resources on. Here is how to unlock the Armory, what the reroll actually does, and the one step that stops you throwing away a good roll.

Short answer

Unlock the Armory at Level 20 (portal next to the Event button → Expedition Hub → talk to Fyrbrand → pay Gold). Lock the stats you want to keep, then spend an Equipment Reroll — it randomizes every stat that is still unlocked. Reroll unit-specific gear on your main carry first, because those pieces carry an exclusive passive.

How to reroll equipment, step by step

  1. 1

    Reach Level 20

The Armory is hard-gated behind account Level 20. Nothing on this page is usable before that, so run expeditions and clear quests first.

  2. 2

    Open the Expedition Hub

Take the portal next to the Event button in the lobby. This drops you into the Expedition Hub, which is a separate area from the main lobby.

  3. 3

Talk to Fyrbrand and pay to build the Armory

Fyrbrand is the NPC who unlocks Armory construction, and it costs Gold. This is a one-time unlock per account.

  4. 4

Equip the piece you want to improve, then open the Armory

Rerolling works on the equipment as it sits on your unit, so put the gear on the carry you actually field before you start spending.

  5. 5

Lock every stat you want to keep — this is the step people skip

A reroll randomizes all unlocked values at once. If you rolled a great Damage number and reroll without locking it, you will lose it. Spend an Equipment Lock or Stat Lock on the good line first.

  6. 6

Reroll, then re-evaluate after every single roll

Each roll consumes one reroll token and rerandomizes everything still unlocked, within that stat's range. Lock anything new that comes up good, then roll again.

What equipment stats can roll

Each stat rerolls within its own range, so a roll can land anywhere between that stat's floor and ceiling. Some pieces also carry an exclusive passive on top of these.

Damage

The default priority on any carry. Highest impact per point on damage-dealing units.

SPA (attack cooldown)

Lower is better — it is the delay between attacks. Compounds hard on units whose damage ramps per takedown.

Critical Chance

Only worth chasing on units already built around crit, or paired with the Forsaken or Precision traits.

Range

Undervalued on supports and crowd control — more range means more enemies inside your effect for longer.

Standard vs unit-specific equipment

Standard equipment

Wearable by any unit. Perfectly fine as a placeholder while you level, but it carries stats only — no passive. Do not sink your reroll stock into it.

Unit-specific equipment

Only equippable by the character it was made for, and it grants an exclusive passive ability on top of its stats. This is where your rerolls belong — a strong roll here is worth several times the same roll on standard gear.

Where to get Equipment Rerolls

Codes — free, and by far the fastest

Event codes sometimes give Equipment Rerolls or Equipment Locks in a single redeem. At 2,500 Gold per reroll in the shop, checking codes first can save tens of thousands of Gold. See the active codes →

Gold Shop — 2,500 Gold each

Reliable but slow. Worth buying only once you have a unit-specific piece on a carry you have committed to.

Challenges

Steady trickle from clearing challenge objectives — the main renewable source once codes run dry.

Three mistakes that waste rerolls

Rerolling without locking first

A reroll randomizes every unlocked stat simultaneously. Rolling on a piece that already has one great line, without locking that line, is how most players lose their best roll.

Rerolling standard gear

No passive, no reason. Standard equipment is a placeholder — keep the rerolls until a unit-specific piece drops for a carry you actually field.

Rerolling on a unit you are about to replace

Check the tier list before you spend. Investing 20 rerolls into a B-tier unit you will bench next week is the most common way new accounts stall.

Stock up before you roll

Rerolling with a handful of tokens is how people end up stuck on a bad roll. Redeem the current codes for Equipment Rerolls and Locks first, then start.

Equipment reroll FAQ

How do you use equipment reroll in Anime Expeditions?

Reach Level 20, take the portal next to the Event button into the Expedition Hub, talk to Fyrbrand and pay Gold to unlock the Armory. Then equip the piece you want to improve, lock any stat you want to keep, and spend an Equipment Reroll to randomize everything still unlocked. Repeat, locking good rolls as they appear.

Where do you get Equipment Rerolls?

Two reliable repeatable sources are Challenges and the Gold Shop at 2,500 Gold each. Codes are the third source when a current event includes equipment rewards; check the active list before spending Gold because code rewards rotate quickly.

What is the difference between Equipment Locks and Stat Locks?

Both protect a value from being randomized by the next roll, and the game hands them out as separate items alongside Equipment Rerolls and Stat Rerolls. The mechanic that matters is the same in both cases: anything unlocked gets rerolled, anything locked is kept. Always lock before you roll.

Do unit-specific equipment pieces give a new passive?

Yes. Equipment splits into Standard equipment, which any unit can wear, and Unit-Specific equipment, which only its intended character can equip — and the unit-specific pieces carry an exclusive passive ability on top of their stats. That passive is why unit-specific gear is worth far more reroll investment than standard gear.

Do unit-specific relics actually give a new passive to the unit?

Yes, if you mean unit-specific equipment — those pieces carry an exclusive passive ability on top of their stats, and only the character they were made for can equip them. That passive is the entire reason unit-specific gear is worth more reroll investment than standard gear. Note that "relic" is a separate thing in-game: Crow Relics are Villain Invasion event collectibles, and Raid Totems are the permanent damage buff (+0.10x each, up to 10 for a flat x2 in that raid). Neither of those is equipment and neither grants a passive.

Which equipment should you reroll first?

Unit-specific gear on your main carry, every time. Standard equipment is a fine placeholder, but the exclusive passive on a unit-specific piece means a strong roll there is worth several times the same roll on generic gear. Do not spend rerolls on units you are going to replace.

What stats can equipment roll in Anime Expeditions?

Damage, Range, Critical Chance and SPA (attack cooldown). Some equipment also grants an exclusive passive ability on top. Each stat rerolls within its own range, so a reroll can land anywhere between that stat's floor and ceiling.
